Ring-tailed Lemur is also known as Lemur catta and its scientific name is Lemuridae Lemur catta. It usually found only on east African island of Madagascar. Ring-tailed lemurs have black skin; frequently its fur is grey in colour and also has patches of white fur on their faces, ears, and underbelly. Ring-tailed Lemur tail is banded with black and white and its tail is about 60cm long.

Lemur is an herbivores animal and their diets such as fruits, leaves, berries, bird’s eggs, tree bark, and insects. Its length is about 42.5cm and its weight is 2.2kg. Lemur can walk or run on the ground and on top of the branches, and as like monkey, lemur also use its tail standing up for balance.

Pinta Island tortoise is the World’s rarest animal species. The scientific name for pinta island tortoise is Geochelone elephantopus abingdoni. It generally found in eastern pacific ocean.A small island measure just 60 sq km in area, Isla Pinta is residence to swallow-tailed gulls, marine iguanas, fur seals and a number of other birds and mammals.

The most northern island in the Galapagos, at single time Isla Pinta had a blooming tortoise population. However, over the years to due poaching of these calm giants by fishermen and whalers, the number of these kind of tortoises has diminished greatly. Today, Lonesome George (Pinta Island tortoise) is the last remaining subspecies of tortoise from Isla Pinta, and though many hard work have been made to breed him with other tortoises, but they have so far been unsuccessful.

The White Peacock is commonly mistaken for an albino, but it is a colour range of Indian Blue Peacock. Its white colour makes it looks really wonderful and graceful. White peacocks are the same as the Indian Blue in size and behavior, but this one is white in colour.

In the wild, male Peacocks usually collect a harem of 2 - 5 females. However, in captivity, they are generally satisfied with one. The male has an extremely long tai(trains) which is not actually his tail. The trains serve as a cover for the real tail, which is brown in colour. The train essentially sprouts from the center of the back. Peacocks grow up to 7 inch from tip of beak to end of train.

It usually found in Australia and tropical rainforests of North Queensland and New Guinea. Adult cassowary can reach upto 6 feet in height and its weight is about 100 pounds and more. The cassowary’s looks brightly colored blue and purple head and neck with droopy black feathers, and has a large helmet-shaped bony growth on its head. The Cassowary is also one of the most dangerous and complicated animals to keep in the Zoo because of the repeated injuries suffered by Zoo keepers that look after them. Females and males are much related in appearance, but adult females are generally slightly larger than the males.

The scientific name for frilled dragon lizard is Chlamydosaurus kingii and and it belongs to the family of dragons. The Frilled Neck Lizard (sun-loving lizard) is the reptile emblem of Australia, depicts on defunct two-cent coin. The head and body length of the dragon lizard is 28cm and its overall length is generally 70 cm but up to 95cm.

The colour of the lizard matches the land on which it lives, but male lizard is more colorful than the female. Frilled Lizard is not poisonous or harmful to man and usually found in Australia northern Queensland and the Northern Territory. The frilled neck lizard is omnivorous one requires mixed vegetables and fruits as well as insects like crickets, mealworms, and wax worms. Breeding generally takes place in the month of September and the eggs take about 8 to 12 weeks to hatch.

Sciurus Carolinensis - White Squirrel

White Squirrel is an Oriental Tree Squirrel found in India, Marionville, Missouri, and Exeter, Canada. The scientific name for white Squirrel is Sciurus Carolinensis. This squirrel is white with light brown in its body and orange colors on the bottom of its tail.

White Squirrels are generally active during early morning late afternoon. White Squirrel has never been experimental in the main island (Palawan Island). It is endemic to a small island where major rainforest is gone. The white squirrel is presently found in besmirched habitats such as abandoned coconut plantations mixed with few native trees.

The New Species found in China and it was brought to the zoo by an anonymous man in Wenling. Keepers said that he was unable to decide what the animal – snub-nosed monkey with its hazel eyes and orange, brown and white dappled fur. Last year, this zoo hosted a wedding between Wukong(seven-year-old male) and Xiaoya(six-year-old female).

White Alligator - Mississippiensis





The Scientific name for white crocodile is Alligator mississippiensis , and is one of the rare animal in the world. Usually it was white in color and also found in south east United States: Florida and Louisiana, the southern parts of Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi, coastal South and North Carolina, and Orissa. The eating habits for white alligator is fish, turtles, small mammals, birds and other reptiles and size is about 9 to 14 feet. White Alligator life span is up to 50 years.

Waterdogs or mudpuppies lives in the bottom of the lakes and ponds, rivers and streams and it never come out from water. It hides themselves from the rocks, trees and shrubs and its prey is crayfish, snails and worms.
